The Northern Rivers - Gold Coast region is becoming renowned for restaurants that offer fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients, with more than a few award winning eateries that are tucked away in the hinterlands, providing "paddock to plate" home grown dining experiences.

Just ask your accommodation hosts for their favourite places to eat, or check the local papers for current listings.

Visitors can also be on the lookout for a "foodie festival", with "Sample" and "Taste" food events, where local restaurants come together in one place, and offer tasting dishes from food stalls.  You can often eat your way around the worlds' cuisine at these events!

And if you can't make to a festival, then just check out the nearest farmers market or weekend market for a taste from local menus.
