All members are volunteers and the Society is very active in the community, assisting and being assisted by a wide variety of community, corporate and government organisations as well as many individuals from the community.

The museum collection comprises many interesting displays; a Radio Room holds a very interesting display of civilian and military radio equipment. Next to the old stable is farm machinery and a restored sulky.

In other rooms there are displays of geological specimens, household utensils, chinaware, clothing, military uniforms, war medals and ribbons.

Collections include cameras, clocks, gramophone records and players.  The museum has archives recording some of the pioneer families of the area, and agricultural and industrial development.

The museum is also the repository of a collection of books, newspapers, cuttings, and other publications recording the history of the area. Scores of early photographs are on display.

The Tweed River Historical Society Museum is open Wednesday and Friday each week from 11 am to 3 pm, or by arrangement. School (and other) groups are welcome.

Admission Fees: Adults $2.00, Children $1.00
