Murwillumbah Potters Inc.

Murwillumbah Potters Inc is a group of self-help potters which meets at the old Fernvale Primary School, 8 minutes south of Murwillumbah. Members of the club vary greatly in experience, ability and expertise. Beginners are always welcome to join at any time of the year and learn from the others by observation and participation.

Imagination is the only limit to what may be created, from large hand-built garden ornaments to small ornaments, figurines, bowls or other domestic pottery. Some of the group work independently and have their own kiln and wheel at home. Others meet informally every Friday from 10 am at the school and use the wheels and other facilities there.

The large wood-fired and salt kilns are a distinctive feature of the facilities offered and firings take place at regular intervals during the year. Club members are expected to help with the packing, firing and unpacking of the kilns, usually over a weekend and other artists are welcome to share this experience with us.

Skilled members or visiting artists occasionally hold a workshop for the group and two very successful clay sculpture workshops were held during the last year. The club is a regular participant in annual Murwillumbah Show and members may choose to assist at the stall or take part in the very popular demonstrations.

Tweed Valley Cyclists

Enjoy a relaxing social ride with like minded people touring the scenic Tweed Valley and beyond.  See great beauty in the Tweed, lovely quiet back roads, some Gold Coast Hinterland rides, enjoy the area by bicycle.

Distances depends on group energy levels.  Summer rides may involve getting wet, while on a moonlight night ride "spirits" may evolve!  Whimsical werewolves always welcome.

Non competitive rides, with everyone being self reliant ie: carry own water and food, enough for the whole day.

Tweed Valley, Gold Coast Bush Ramblers

Bushwalking in the Tweed and beyond.  Bush Ramblers meet on the first Sunday of each month, then one weekday a month.

Most walks are done in the Caldera area. Find out much more about this wonderful valley of contrasts, and what better way than by local bushwalkers, you won't find out about these special places in the information centres. For the less fit or those who would like to do spot of bird watching there is also a group who wander on Thursday mornings.

Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers Inc.

The Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers Inc. is a group of volunteers who rescue, care for and rehabilitate native animals which have been orphaned and/or injured.  The group is mainly self-funded and relies greatly on fund-raising events and the generosity of the public to cover such things as vet and telephone bills.

The TVWC's Inc. is licensed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service of N.S.W. and each member does comprehensive training in the care and management of the particular animal that they care for.

The aim of the TVWC's is to see that any native animal that is orphaned and/or injured is cared for in the correct manner and able to be released back into its natural environment.
